Our gorgeous girl Sahara has had a professional photoshoot to show what a lovely playful dog she really is. Sahara is a beautiful, intelligent 3-year-old desert rescue with an energetic, alert personality. She loves engagement, enjoys routine, and forms strong bonds with the people she trusts. After a couple of meetings with someone who shows her love and kindness she will remember them and run to greet them.
Rescued from Saudi Arabia as a puppy, Sahara has spent much of her life in kennels and is still learning about home life and was quite institutionalised. She has completed residential training in Scotland, where she made excellent progress and learned to thrive with structure and clear guidance.
Sahara is food-motivated, responds very well to positive reinforcement, and would do best in an experienced home with adults only or possibly with older children. Ideally a home in a rural setting would be the most beneficial for her. Although Sahara gets on well with some other dogs she can be a little choosy in her circle of friends so may be happiest as the only dog to begin with. She has been cat tested but hasn't seen one for a while so may need a slow introduction. As with all Sand To Sofa dogs she is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Sahara is currently in a rehabilitation foster home with a behaviourist where she will learn what life is like living in a home. What she really needs is a permanent home to call her own.
Sahara's trainer reports would be available to view privately as part of any application to adopt her.
Sahara is considered by us to be a dog who requires priority rehoming. In this instance her donation amount would be set at a minimum of £150. See our Adoption Donations page for details.
