Handsome boy Soul had a photo shoot, they definitely caught his best side.
He is a lovely affectionate boy around two years old. Neutered vaccinated microchipped and passported. He’s already flown Riyadh - Dubai - USA.
He is available for February adoption. He will be arriving into Glasgow around the first week of February. One of our founders has been fostering him whilst on a trip to USA and would love to be able to visit him and keep in touch after his adoption.
Soul has abuse in his past, he was found on the streets of Riyadh very matted, starving and terrified. He was so matted that sadly one eye had to be removed.
Soul is currently undergoing professional training for resource guarding he is making amazing progress, he will need some boundaries in place in his new home. For this reason he would best suit a home where he is the only dog and without children. Soul will require regular professional grooming.
He has mild COPD which he does not require any medication for and does not affect his daily life.

From Soul's trainer:
Soul has been improving a little more each day as I continue to work on his resource guarding around food. We always begin our earlier sessions of the day by strengthening our connection on lead working around the property. We’ve continued practicing waiting at thresholds, and when he’s walking particularly well, he loves being rewarded with time to explore, sniff, and—of course—stop for some petting!
Our main focus recently has been the project of reducing his food-related guarding behaviors. I picked up where we left off last time by feeding him in a different corner from where his water bowl is. I started by dropping just a few pieces of kibble into his bowl, gradually building from there. Each day I divided his dinner into several portions so he could have more repetitions.
The video from yesterday (the one in his room) shows the great progress he’s made—I was able to touch both him and his bowl, even when it had more food in it than before. I did notice one brief moment when his body stiffened slightly as the bowl was fuller than usual, so I calmly and purposefully backed my hand away to give him space.
I truly love working with Soul! I started the day by building a connection with him on lead. We walked throughout the facility and spent time working outside as well. He enjoyed our loose-leash walking sessions, and I rewarded his focus with sprints in the grass and time to smell and explore. We also worked on waiting at doorways and thresholds as a way to strengthen his impulse control.
I’m looking forward to explaining the strategies I used that I think could be effective going forward at feeding time. I’ve included a video that shows some of the techniques I believe will work well at home.
He is such a sweet and affectionate boy, and he’s very lucky to have a caring family that’s willing to give him the time and patience he deserves. He’s a great dog — and truly, an undeniably special soul!
